Jean-Philippe Collard-Neven, born in 1975, is a Belgian composer and pianist. Passionate about all contemporary music, Jean-Philippe Collard-Neven has created his own personal style of interpretation that relates to different musical practices. The practice and the permanent confrontation of these very different genres have slowly merged into a musical vision free of rigid definitions. Jean-Philippe Collard-Neven creates unexpected affiliations, gateways that weave their connections through the history of all musical genres and cross over the continents of sound without worrying about frontiers and established categories. He was awarded first prize during the Dexia competition. In 2003 the Belgian Composer's Union awarded him the Fuga trophy for his endeavours in favour of the Belgian repertoire. In 2008 he also received the Artist of the Year Octave Award.
